Unboxing the New Crate Crochet Subscription Box

Hi guys, Wheelie here! It's that time again - my new Crate Crochet subscription box arrived in the mail yesterday, and I couldn't wait to share my experience with you. But before we dive into the unboxing, let me recap the project from the previous box. It was a tight deadline, but thanks to a kick from Crate Crochet's Instagram post, I managed to finish it just in time. The project was a gorgeous mandala accompanied by a hoop, and I must say, it was a real delight to crochet. However, due to the absence of a gauge, I realized later that my mandala was way too big for the hoop. After a few attempts, I finally got it right, and I am quite pleased with the end result.

Now, let's talk about what I've been up to aside from the Crate Crochet projects. One of my subscribers requested a pattern for a detergent cover, and I've been diligently working on it. Unlike the typical frilly aprons and dresses for dish liquid covers, I aimed for something unique – a cozy, "ugly jumper." Although it took longer than expected, I'm excited to say that I'm nearing completion. Once finished, I plan to film a tutorial, so all of you can join in and make one too!

On another note, I recently made a luxurious wrap using Scheepjes yarn. It's incredibly soft, warm, and simply stunning. The combination of wool, acrylic, and alpaca creates a perfect blend that feels heavenly against the skin. In fact, a friend of mine loved it so much that she requested me to make one for her too. I gladly accepted and decided to film the process so you can participate in the creation of this beautiful wrap as well.

Now, let's move on to the main event – unboxing the new Crate Crochet subscription box! As I tear open the packaging, I notice something different this time – the box is overfilled, giving it an exciting element of surprise. Crate Crochet always impresses with their presentation, and this time is no exception. Inside the box, I find three vibrant colors of 14-ply yarn, which is a welcome change from the usual 8-ply cotton yarn. The soft grey-blue shade feels absolutely divine, while the creamy white adds a touch of elegance. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of mustard yellow, but somehow it fits perfectly with this color palette. And to my delight, I discover a delightful inclusion of a little rainbow and a cup of tea – this time, it's Earl Grey, even though I'm usually a black tea drinker.

As I explore further, I come across a note from Crate Crochet explaining a change in their subscription box. Although the details are still a bit mysterious, it seems like they will be transitioning to their own website and altering the type of subscription offered. As a legacy member, I will continue at my current pricing for the near future, but I'm eager to learn more about what's on the horizon.

Finally, the star of the box – this month's project, aptly named the Creativity Rainbow. It's a corner-to-corner wall hanging that I can't wait to assemble and display. I love rainbows, and even though mustard isn't my favorite color, I can appreciate its retro charm. To add to the excitement, Crate Crochet includes a voucher, though I couldn't find anything I wanted on their website at the moment. Nevertheless, who knows what gems might appear in the future?

All in all, I'm thrilled with this month's Crate Crochet subscription box. The yarn is gorgeous, and the new project looks exciting. I can't wait to get started and share my progress with you in the next month's update. Alternatively, if you're ready to dive into a new project, why not try making the wrap using Scheepjes yarn? Trust me, the results are absolutely beautiful. Stay tuned for more crochet adventures, and until next time, happy hooking!
