Introduction

Welcome back to Butterfly Dreams Crochet! In today's episode of Wheel of Makes, we will be pulling from the wheel to determine what crochet project I will be working on. But before we get started, I want to express my gratitude for all the support and love that you, my viewers, have shown me. Your dedication to my channel means the world to me. Now, let's dive into the exciting world of crochet and see what project awaits us!

The Wheel of Makes

The Wheel of Makes is a fun way for me to choose what crochet project I will be working on next. Each week, I spin the wheel and whatever it lands on, I create! It adds an element of surprise and excitement to my crochet journey, and I hope you enjoy it too.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you for watching my videos. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me. Whether you have subscribed to my channel or simply enjoy watching my content, I truly appreciate your presence. It is because of viewers like you that I am able to pursue my passion for crochet and share it with the world. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

A Life to Remember

Before we dive into today's project, I would like to take a moment to honor the memory of a beloved member of our community. Ola, a true pillar of our neighborhood, recently passed away. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Ola was a kind-hearted and warm individual who had the power to turn any frown upside down. She was always there to lend a helping hand, wipe away tears, and fill the room with laughter. In her honor, I would like to share Ola's Recipe for Life, as it truly encapsulates the essence of who she was.

Ola's Recipe for Life:

  • A heaping of love
  • One pound of loyalty
  • Three cups of forgiveness
  • A dash of friendship
  • One stick of understanding
  • A pinch of kindness and peace
  • Prayer to taste
  • Four quarts of Faith
  • One bunch of forgiveness
  • One barrel of laughter

Mix peace and loyalty thoroughly with faith. Blend it with friendship, forgiveness, and understanding. Kneel in prayer and sprinkle abundantly with laughter. Bake with love and serve daily with generous helpings of kindness. But most importantly, give thanks to God for the gift of life. Let us remember Ola's spirit and strive to live by this beautiful recipe.

The Joyful Apple and Apple Slice

In the previous episode of Wheel of Makes, I was tasked with creating an apple and apple slices. I am thrilled to share that I successfully completed this project. The little red apple and apple slice turned out beautifully. I love how they look, and I am considering making more of them as gifts for my grandchildren to give to their teachers. It would be a sweet gesture for Teacher Appreciation Day. But before I embark on new projects, let me show you what I've made.

The Juicy Juice Box

Now, let's move on to the project for today's episode of Wheel of Makes. And the winner is... drumroll... the Juice Box! I have been eyeing these adorable juice boxes in my crochet book for a while now, and I am excited to finally have the chance to make them. The pattern for the juice boxes can be found on page 116 of the crochet book.

Materials and Tools

To create the juice box, we will need the following materials and tools:

  • Four-ply worsted weight yarn in purple, pink or blue, white, and light gray
  • A 3.75 mm crochet hook
  • 9 mm safety eyes
  • Pipe cleaner measuring 3.5 inches (or straws as an alternative)

Crocheting the Juice Box

To begin crafting the juice box, follow the instructions provided in the crochet book on page 116. Make sure you have all the necessary materials and tools ready before you start. The pattern will guide you through each step, and soon enough, you will have a delightful and realistic-looking juice box in your hands.

Adding the Straw

One modification I make when creating these toys is using straws instead of pipe cleaners for the straw portion of the juice box. This is because the process of making the tubes with pipe cleaners can be strenuous on my hands. Instead, I cut flexible straws to size and insert them into the crochet portion. This ensures durability and longevity in the finished product. If you would like to use straws instead of pipe cleaners, I will record a demonstration in a future video where I show you how to incorporate the straws seamlessly.

Creating Lasting Memories

As I work on this project, I can't help but reflect on the joy that crochet brings into my life. It is not just about creating beautiful objects; it is about the memories and connections we form through our craft. Each stitch holds a moment, a feeling, and a story. And when we gift our creations to loved ones, we are giving them a piece of our heart and the opportunity to create new memories. So, as we embark on this journey together, let's cherish the moments we spend crafting and the joy we can bring to others.

Thank you for joining me today, and until the next video, be kind, keep smiling, and remember that I love you all. Happy crocheting!
