Testing Out Human Hair for Boho Knotless Braid

Hey Beauties, welcome back to my YouTube channel! In this episode, we'll be testing out human hair for a boho knotless braid. This is my first time using a loose wave pattern for this style, and I'm excited to share my experience with you. The company that sent me the hair is called YG Wigs, and the packaging and hair quality are impressive. I'll also be explaining the difference between single drawn, double drawn, and super double drawn hair for those who are curious. So let's dive in and see the results of this hair experiment!

YG Wigs is the company that provided the hair for this boho knotless braid test. The packaging they use is super nice, with the hair neatly stored in a cute drawstring bag inside the box. As soon as I opened the package, I knew I was going to love the loose wave pattern of the hair. YG Wig's double drawn bulk hair is made of 100% human hair, which is perfect for braiding as it doesn't have any short pieces in the bundle.

Before we move on, let's briefly discuss the difference between single drawn, double drawn, and super double drawn hair. Single drawn hair is the most common type and contains different lengths, resulting in a tapered look. Double drawn hair, on the other hand, goes through an additional process where the shorter strands are removed to make the hair more uniform in length. Super double drawn hair undergoes an even more meticulous process to ensure an ultra-thick and voluminous appearance.

Now that we understand the hair quality, let's talk about preparing the hair for braiding. When I received the bundles of double drawn loose wave hair, I took the time to sort and comb the hair. This helps me ensure that there are no tangled or short hairs in the bundles, making the braiding process much smoother. I love using a braiding rack to separate the hair into individual pieces, making it easier to grab when I'm ready to braid.

Speaking of braiding, let's dive into the technique for creating boho knotless braids. I have several tutorials on my YouTube channel that go into more detail, but I'll give you a brief overview here. To start, I braid the natural hair once or twice, depending on its thickness, and then add in a strand of braiding hair. I continue braiding down, adding more strands of braiding hair as I go, until I reach the client's hair. To ensure a seamless blend, I add a little bit of product to help tuck in the natural hair.

In order to test the hair's durability and see if it bounces back after being treated with hot water, I decided to try out dipping the braids. This method involves boiling water and then carefully submerging the braids in the hot water. Initially, the hair may straighten out a bit, but don't worry, it will curl right back up. I was pleasantly surprised by the crinkle effect I achieved by dipping the braids. This technique is especially effective when using braiding hair alongside your natural hair.

To maintain and style the curls, I found that using a combination of leave-in conditioner and scrunching the hair gave me the desired results. Alternatively, you can use a diffuser to speed up the drying process. However, it's important to note that you don't need to repeat this process every day. You can maintain the curls by spraying the hair with a bit of water and leave-in conditioner every few days, depending on your preference.

Now, let's talk about creating the actual boho knotless braid style. I typically do seven rows on each side, adding two braids with curls left out in the first row and gradually increasing the number of braids and curls in subsequent rows. This helps achieve a fuller look. For the back of the style, I add two curls per braid until I reach the top, ensuring an even distribution of curls throughout the entire head.

While testing out the YG Wigs double drawn loose wave hair, I couldn't help but explore the other options available on their website. They offer a wide range of colors, including a stunning 613 blonde shade that piqued my interest. I wonder if the loose wave pattern looks the same in the blonde color. This discovery has inspired me to try out different curl patterns and colors in the future. I'm open to suggestions, so if you have any specific curl patterns or colors you'd like to see me test, please comment down below!

In conclusion, the YG Wigs double drawn loose wave hair exceeded my expectations. The hair quality was excellent, the bundles were full, and the hair was easy to braid with. The dip and crinkle effect worked like a charm, and the curls maintained their shape well. The boho knotless braid style turned out gorgeous, and my client loved how lightweight and versatile the hair felt. With leftover hair, I even had the opportunity to try different styles on my assistant, and the results were equally stunning.

Thank you for joining me in this hair experiment, and I hope you found this article helpful and informative. Stay tuned for more hair adventures, and don't forget to let me know your suggestions for future curl patterns and colors.
