Introduction

Welcome back to my channel, braiders! In today's video, sponsored by Made Beauty, I will be sharing with you my experience using their Maid Braid Hair series. Made Beauty is a beauty brand that not only wants you to look your best but also aims to make you feel your best. Their hair series offers a variety of options for creating different braided hairstyles, including distressed locks and butterfly locks. I am excited to review their 2x Cuban Twist Hair and Beach Curl Hair, and share with you how amazing these products are. So, let's dive in and discover the potential of these hair extensions.

The Braid Pattern

Before we delve into the specifics of the hair, let's first discuss the braid pattern I used for this hairstyle. I opted for a round method, where I parted out the hair row by row, going around the head. In total, I created six rows and 37 braids. All the braids were brick-laid, which means the braids above fell in between the spaces of the braids below. This technique creates a fuller style with fewer gaps, which is perfect for butterfly locks. Now that we have the braid pattern set, let's move on to exploring the Cuban Twist Hair and Beach Curl Hair.

Choosing the Right Hair

For this particular style, I decided to go with the 2x Cuban Twist Hair in 18 inches, color OT530. The hair starts off with a darker shade, resembling a 1B, and gradually transitions into a reddish burgundy color. To complement the Cuban Twist Hair, I chose the 3x Beach Curl Hair in 20 inches, also in the color T530. This pack comes with three bundles, which is sufficient for the style. It was a pleasant surprise for me to discover that I only needed about one and a half packs of the curly hair, thanks to its texture. The Cuban Twist Hair turned out to be incredibly easy to work with, and it did not require full-length braiding. Now, let's move on to the wrapping process.

Working with the Cuban Twist Hair

When it comes to braiding the Cuban Twist Hair over the natural braid, you don't have to braid it all the way down. About halfway is sufficient, given its texture. The hair won't unravel, making the process more efficient. During the wrapping stage, you will need two pieces of curly hair per lock. Before inserting them through the braid, make sure to fluff out the strands. Initially, I had concerns about the thickness of the hair pieces. However, as I started wrapping the locks, I was pleasantly surprised by how easily they butterflyed themselves. The hair provided a neat and calm look, which is what I aim for when executing butterfly locks. The ease of use and lack of knotting and tangling were significant advantages of the Made Beauty Cuban Twist Hair.

Wrapping the Hair

To seal the lock, take the hair with the larger portion and roll it, switching hands. Fold it up, and then use the smaller piece to wrap around the folded portion. Wrap the hair a few times before applying a small dab of glue to secure it. Complete the rolling motion and give it a twist. Finally, trim off the excess hair. This sealing technique ensures the lock stays in place, giving a finished look with minimal effort. Next, let's talk about the benefits of the hair length.

Sealing the Locks

One of the advantages of the Made Beauty hair extensions is the length they offer. Unlike other brands, where I often feel like I'm running out of hair during the installation process, these hair extensions provided ample length. In the past, I struggled to achieve consistent length throughout the locks, especially as I moved towards the top of the head. However, with the additional two inches of length in the Cuban Twist Hair (18 inches) and the Beach Curl Hair (20 inches), this was no longer an issue. Even though the locks did not reach true bob length, they still formed a bob layered look. The extended length of the hair made a significant difference in the final result compared to my previous installs.

The Benefits of the Hair Length

When creating butterfly locks, it is essential to have enough hair to achieve the desired fullness. In the past, I often felt like I was running out of hair and compromising on the length. However, with the Made Beauty hair extensions, this was not a problem. The additional two inches in length allowed me to create locks that were full and had a level of neatness I desired. The longer hair made a noticeable difference in the overall style, adding to its visual appeal.

Final Thoughts on the Hair

Overall, I was highly impressed with the Made Beauty hair extensions. Their Cuban Twist Hair and Beach Curl Hair were easy to work with, and the lack of tangling and knotting made the styling process smoother. Despite my initial concerns about the thickness of the hair pieces, they exceeded my expectations when it came to creating full and neat butterfly locks. The extended length of the hair was a game-changer, allowing me to achieve consistent length and a layered look. Based on my experience, I would recommend trying other curl patterns offered by Made Beauty and exploring their color options.

Trying Different Curl Patterns

If you're looking to experiment with different curl patterns, Made Beauty has a variety to choose from. While I opted for the Beach Curl hair in this review, they have other options that might pique your interest. It's always exciting to try new curl patterns and see how they transform your braided hairstyles. Additionally, they even offer the Cuban Twist Hair in the hard-to-find color OT350. For braiders, finding the right hair in specific colors can be challenging, but Made Beauty aims to provide a comprehensive range of options to cater to different preferences.
